Exploring Ningaloo Reef

Ningaloo reef is Australia's largest fringing coral reef (which means you can snorkel it from shore). It's the home of Mermaid Beach co. so we may be biased but we think it's one of the most special places on earth!

The Ningaloo Reef is a biodiversity hotspot with incredible megafauna visiting throughout the seasons. In summer sea turtles come to mate and lay their eggs. In Autumn as the coral begins to spawn, whale sharks arrive and by the time they leave in winter, Humpback whales have made their way up from Antarctica to have their babies in warmer waters.

It's home to hundreds of tropical fish species, coral, manta rays, and other marine life.

Next to the reef is the the incredible Cape Range National Park, which, like the reef is World Heritage listed. It's home to hundreds of species of birds and reptiles, rock wallabies, kangaroos and emus.

The north west coast of Australia is one of our best-kept secrets - make sure to think of it when you're planning your next mermaid adventures!

And, check out our Marine Collection which is inspired by the incredible marine life of the Ningaloo Reef.
